Population served: Orphans, vulnerable children, unemployed youth, widows, and rural communities in the DRC
In one of the world's hardest places to be a child, partnership changes everything.
The Democratic Republic of the Congo is home to over 5 million orphaned children, the world's largest displaced population in Africa, and rural communities where clean water and basic healthcare remain out of reach.
Humanitarian Action of Hope partners with Groupe d'Action des Amis de Momba (GAAM ASBL), a registered Congolese NGO based in Kinshasa, founded in 2023. GAAM serves orphans, vulnerable children, unemployed youth, widows, and underserved rural communities across the DRC — and they know their communities better than any outsider ever could.
What your support funds:
Care and schooling for orphaned and at-risk children
Vocational training that gives unemployed youth a future
Micro-grants for struggling families to start businesses
Clean water and basic medical care in rural communities
Agricultural projects that build food security where it's needed most
Recent impact:
In December 2025, HAH disbursed our first international grant of $1,350 to support GAAM's headquarters construction — laying the foundation for years of collaboration ahead. This is just the beginning.
Why this matters:
Top-down aid has a poor track record in Africa. Lasting change comes from supporting people who already know the work, the language, and the community. HAH walks alongside GAAM. We don't direct it — we strengthen it.
